After a four-day trial in San Francisco Superior Court, artist Raymond Pettibon was restored ownership of his painting, Untitled (This Wave). The dispute in the case arose when the organizer of an exhibition featuring Pettibon’s work alleged that Pettibon gifted the painting to him. Pettibon insisted that he had not, and the Court agreed.
